Meet Our Family Pastor

DYLAN SIMS

Growing up, I didn’t attend church regularly, and when I did go it was to a different church almost every time. At the age of 10 my brother invited me to Northwest Baptist Church (now Legacy). It was a fun, friendly, welcoming church that had me excited about coming back every week. Attending church every week helped me to learn more and more, but it wasn’t until I was 18 that God truly got a hold of my life. July 5th 2011, my final youth camp as a student, I finally truly accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. Two days later, after praying and talking with my Student Pastor, I committed my life to full-time ministry.

For the next four years, I attended Arlington Baptist College, and graduated with my Bachelor’s degree in Bible with a minor in Student Ministry. On my fourth “re-birthday”, July 5th, 2015, I was licensed into ministry and was called to serve as the Student Pastor at a church in Paris, TX. In November of 2016, God called me back to my home church here at Legacy.

I was born September 29th, 1992 here in Fort Worth, and have lived the majority of my life in this area. If you are wondering, CASH is an acceptable birthday gift.

I am married to my best friend and the love of my life, Stephanie Sims. We have been married since December 11th, 2015. We have 4 children, Lexi, Cash, Elianna, and Jacob. We also have dogs which Stephanie refers to as her “fur babies”.

Some of my hobbies consist of watching the Texas Rangers and the Dallas Cowboys, working with my hands, golfing (a recent hobby), and spending quality time with my wife. My favorite restaurant(s) aren’t technically “restaurants”… Chipotle and Whataburger are the best. (Also, an acceptable birthday gift.) I have a firm belief this is what we will eat in heaven.

I am so thankful that God has called me to kids ministry, and that I get to serve alongside my wife, at the church I grew up in.
